This weekend's club run.

Club run, camped at a beatiful spot in forest by a loch. Cracking roads there and back.
With Scott being absent, Mine was the only rat bike.

looking at the line-up of bikes, those guys must hate going at KLR-like ratbike speeds.....  Very Happy

or do they just bugger off and wait for you at the campsite?

If we are in familiar territory we agree which garage we'll stop at. It means folks can ride at their own pace and when we stop we can do fuel/fag/bog all at one go. That doesn't stop the faff factor though.

On the very narrow rural roads a big litre plus bike with clipons is a PITA, whereas the KLE has a revvy engine and weighs nothing compared to my Tiger. It romps up to 90 without much effort, but the handling above that speed gets a bit imprecise. However, on these narrow roads my KLE shamed the Gixer, the ZX10R, the katana, and a few of the 1050 Triumphs, I passed most of them on the bends.

Our club runs are a living example of the parable of the hare and the tortoise, ie, non-smoker on a c90 would get to John O Groats faster than a pack of sportsbikes stopping for regular fag breaks.
