Facefuck and other stuff.

I'm toying with the idea of not looking at fb at all soon, if there's any events y'all see on there that I'm not privvy to I'd appreciate it if it could be mentioned on here as I do intend to check-in here from time to time still as I always have.

FOMO is a real thing but I'm not sure the rubbish I end up reading on fb justifies me looking at it just to hear about doos, I'd hope we can use this forum and whatsapp/ texts, etc still.

I'm currently working on getting the Buell back on the road atm, Max has started riding pillion and the CBR ain't really ideal for that.
Next stage of the project is to rotate the engine down in the frame to facilitate sorting out the headers which was the main reason it came off the road 9 or 10 yrs ago.

I've also started a new part time job at the local farm and I feckin' love it, it's like being in your own little world- just nature and tractors and stuff, no bellends and no traffic. Bliss.
I guess I'll chuck a couple of pics up soon if anyone's interested.

Regarding fb I can't help, quit that nonsense some 6 years ago.

Seems most folks are sick of it, at least the ones who posted anything worth reading. Of course if you're into shite "biker" memes and people using it as a diary it's highly recommended.

Seems I've now done 10 days fb free and I'm loving it, I weened myself down so the shock wasn't too bad.

Here's the Quad I use, a 400cc Honda- it comes with a tyre pressure gauge included with the tools and manual, good old Honda:

Here's the view from the cabin I use for lunch, storing me PPE, etc. It's got a sink and lights and heating and a radio and everything!

And the flail mower I'll be using soon, I had to attach it and set it all up from new- it's got a 23hp v-twin Briggs and sounds quite sweet:

Looks truly peaceful

Wonky McWonkyface, I finished my first field of topping (It's only mowing, calm down at the back) and the front tyre was totally flat so I limped it back to the yard and blew it up enough to get some pallets under it in an attempt to save the tyre. Turns out it was heavily worn, had been repaired several times and a patch had let go so it was replaced a couple of days later:

This field took all day but by the end of it I had a fair idea of how the tractor handled, it's got a 6cyl Perkins engine with a nice turbo whistle- above the front tyre you can just about see my house!

I seriously doubt it but I have thought about it, the farmer is VERY eco minded and anything that might effect the land is a serious no-no.

My mum used to do help out on a farm for a few weeks each year during her Summer break from school to calm her down after a long year of being forced not to kill any of the small brats she had been teaching all year long.
