JAWA are back in business.....sort of

Apparently the company has recently been exhumed somehow and has three models on offer amongst which is this.

I don't dislike it.

the Jawa company has never been out of business

in fact there are two separate Jawa companies (one in Czech, one in India, both with the exact same name & logo) and neither one has been out of business

to add to the confusion, the Indian version is knocking out pretty decent looking hipster bikes including one that looks exactly like a 1960's Czech Jawa:




whereas the Czech factory knocks out weird looking heaps that look like they were made in China:

The top red bike looks like ass whereas the second weird lookin heap looks pretty funky.

the top one does look remarkably like my nasty old jawas, it does seem however to be missing one essential piece of equipment
on the old shitters the gear change flipped up and became the kickstarter and was also attached to the clutch so it disengaged as you started the process of changing gears and let itself back out as you released pressure on the gearchange
it was such a successful innovation that no-one else ever copied it.....

... and there's a third, Slovakian Jawa-brand which does the speedway/dirt-track stuff... (Jawa A.S.)
